What is the point of this role?

As a Bid Team Leader, you will oversee the bid team and all of ANS’ bid. You will be an expert is researching any subject and will welcome the challenge of conveying complex messaging in a clear concise and efficient way whilst project managing each bid from start to finish.

We are looking for a Bid Team Leader who has experience in overseeing and managing the quality in bids, who enjoys what they do. The bid team leader will be managing the bids from the start of the process until the end, and will be overseeing the progress and quality of our proposals to ensure we are submitting quality responses. You will work closely with many departments across ANS. The bid team leader has the opportunity to use their experience to communicate to the internal and external audience of the business.

What will I be doing?

  • Reviewing and editing of tenders, proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, supporting the Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Ensure that all output has a consistent tone and language in line with the company’s brand.
  • Development of win themes and ensure that they are woven into the responses in line with the customers’ requirements.
  • To deliver completed tenders in line with the agreed internal (and where necessary, external) deadlines.
  • Lead sessions to develop response structure / storyboarding.
  • Identify and revise existing boilerplate material.
  • Provide guidance and advice on writing style and structure.
  • Lead review meetings.
  • Assist with / complete non-technical sections/ questions within our responses.
  • Own the bid process and make continual improvements to the process where required.
  • Ensure process’ are being followed and highlighting any concerns within the process.
  • Overseeing the bid process from start to finish.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to obtain information required for each department.
  • Line management of the bid team.
  • Completing Lessons Learnt of previous bids.
  • Overseeing framework applications.
  • Reporting and analysing bid results.
  • Monthly framework reports.

What will I bring to the role?

  • Proven experience in the writing and revision of tender and proposal content.
  • Proven experience in overseeing and managing bids from start to finish.
  • A degree in in a relevant field is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign desirable, but not essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous proof-reading skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience of working in a team on tasks with a small timeframe.

What is needed to do the role?

  • A degree in in a relevant field is desirable, but not essential.
  • APMP (Association for Proposal Management Professionals) Foundation qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Good knowledge in bid writing best practice.
