The role 

As an engineer on our Modern Workspace team, you'll focus on Azure (AVD) and M365. You'll be the go-to person for Modern Work support, quickly resolving any issues. Your job will include providing technical help, managing P1 incidents to keep downtime to a minimum, and getting involved in deployments and migrations. 

You'll also have a chance to give feedback for product development and help with pre-sales activities to show off how great our solutions are. Your skills are key to designing creative solutions that meet our clients' needs and keeping up with industry trends. Plus, you'll work with other teams to share what you know and always look for ways to improve things.

What will I be doing?

  • Act as an escalation point for 1st line Modern Work engineers, offering technical support and guidance within your area of expertise (AVD and M365)
  • Delivering, and supporting our core IT products and services. 
  • Take ownership of escalated and long-standing incidents and monitoring events, ensuring the customer is kept up to date in line with SLAs. 
  • Identify system issues and create innovative solutions to enhance processing efficiency and stability. 
  • Helping in upskilling junior members across the product technologies and ensuring they are meeting SLAs
  • Contributing to internal documentation and training sessions. 
  • Contributing to Daily Stand-up and team meetings. 

What will I bring to the role?

  • Knowledge in troubleshooting, deploying, and managing Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Technology Stack (Compute, Azure Files, FSLogix) 
  • Strong understanding of Azure platform technologies, including IaaS and PaaS services and common workloads. 
  • Ability to review notifications of Security & Quality Releases across technological stack to determine implementation. 
  • Skilled in supporting and administering M365 technologies, e.g. Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, Intune etc. 
  • Experience conducting customer environment review (Cost & Performance optimisation). 
  • Experience and active participation in migrations into Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Networking e.g. firewalls/ VPNs (Including Hub and Spoke network topologies) 
  • Identity Management expertise including Entra Domain Services and AD FS 
  • General Windows Server and domain services knowledge including Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), PowerShell, and print/file server experience.
