The role

Data Centre Engineers are the frontline of our Data Centre Team. Handling the day-to-day workload and taking care of our customers. The role of a Data Centre Engineer is to ensure the smooth day to day running of the data centre. Performing client facing duties such as completing tickets and handling colocation visitors as well as taking charge of internal tasks and their requirements.

This role is perfect for someone interested in IT hardware and technology looking to get their first role in a Data Centre as no previous experience is required.

What will I be doing?

  • Responsible for jobs in the task queue, progressing work as far as possible
  • Taking care of deliveries and all goods in
  • Taking part and adding value to project work
  • A duty to escalate and communicate work halting issues if no solution is available.
  • A duty to monitor the BMS and implement minor fixes where required
  • A duty to escalate major BMS faults
  • Meet ticket response SLA’s
  • Meet task response SLA’s
  • Confident with a large percentage of deployed hardware
  • Strong cabling and testing ability
  • General Housekeeping duties

What will I bring to the role?

  • All training will be given so previous experience in a data centre is not essential
  • A full driving licence (essential)
  • A team player
  • A general interest in IT hardware
  • A general interest in data centres and information technology

Please note: this role includes working a shift pattern of days and nights
