The Role
As the Senior SOC Manager, you'll be at the helm of our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team. Your wealth of experience in cybersecurity, leadership skills, and strategic mindset will be key to driving the SOC’s success through continuous improvement. You'll be managing a talented team of security analysts and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for your team members will be essential for driving engagement and growth. You'll oversee the detection, analysis, and response to security incidents, working closely with other departments and external entities during major incidents to ensure timely resolution of security breaches for our customers. This is a pivotal role within our company’s cybersecurity operations, and we need an experienced leader to lead our growing team of analysts and specialists, this position is suited if you like a technical challenge and enjoy cybersecurity and its evolution.
What will I be doing?
- Manage the daily operations of the SOC, leading a team of skilled security analysts and engineers.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, offering expert advice on cybersecurity matters.
- Lead and coordinate the response to complex security incidents, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- Continuously monitor security events and analyse potential threats, developing long-term solutions.
- Develop SOC policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain a robust security posture.
- Act as the primary liaison for customers, addressing security concerns with compassion and empathy.
- Identify and implement improvements within the SOC to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and develop SOC team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Prepare detailed reports on SOC activities and performance, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
What will I bring to the role?
- Demonstratable background in Cybersecurity having held a similar Senior Management position within a MSP SOC
- Experience of growing, developing and leading a SOC team
- Cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and security technologies.
- Experience of excelling in high pressured situations
- Hands-on experience in security operations management
- Significant experience in Microsoft Security Suite (Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Azure)
- Experience of Microsoft Azure environments
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing security challenges.
- A proactive and driven approach to cybersecurity.
- Ability to develop and drive the execution of a vision.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate at all levels.
- Ability to proactively adapt to continuously shifting company priorities and goals.
