Who we are

Distran is a fast-growing, award-winning, Swiss high technology company producing an extraordinary product: a sensor that literally sees the sounds. Our unique product is used by major global players in Oil and Gas, Chemical, Power and even Space Exploration to detect gas leaks before they become dangerous to either humans or the environment. With strong growth in 35+ countries, our company continues to expand thanks to our amazing people passionate about innovation, climate change, and protecting the environment.

About the role

Join Distran in pioneering the future of ultrasonic imaging and leak detection on the world's first ultrasound camera!

As an R&D Signal Processing Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovating our technology, spearheading the advancement of ultrasonic imaging and leak detection algorithms. Collaborating closely with software, and application engineers, you will push the frontiers of wave signal processing and quantitative acoustic imaging to enhance our client's experience with our cameras. Your contributions will lead to easier, more accurate, and safer gas leak detection.

In this role, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Design and Prototype: Develop innovative acoustic imaging and array signal processing algorithms optimized for efficient execution within the computational limitations of the hardware.
  • Model Development: Elaborate new physical and/or data-driven models for quantitative imaging and leak detection, contributing to enhanced accuracy and detection.
  • Device Calibration: Refine and improve calibration models and procedures to optimize camera performance.
  • Implementation and Experimentation: Implement algorithms and design experiments to validate them and assess their performance using real data. Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new features into production.
  • Documentation and Intellectual Property: Document findings thoroughly and contribute to patent applications and tender documents.
  • Technology Watch: Stay up-to-date with the latest progress in signal processing and related fields, reviewing literature and monitoring the state-of-the-art to inform our research efforts
