About the role

Based in the UAE, the role is responsible for the growth of Distran in the Middle East region.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and grow the business in the Middle East with channel partners and direct sales
  • Develop a structured approach including operational plans to address the market (sectors, types of companies) in line with company strategy
  • Manage/support the business development manager Middle East (located in Bahrain) responsible for KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain
  • Manage proactively the business development in UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Oman (other countries might be assigned)
    • Open, develop and retain relationships with key accounts in the target industries, in particular oil and gas, chemistry and power generation
    • Active sales acquisition with focus on opening, retaining and developing Key Accounts (e.g. ADNOC)
    • Engage in prospecting, perform in-person presentations and on-site demos, help facilitate RFPs, and close orders.
  • Overseeing all aspects of business operations, incl. maintaining budget, sales goals and general targets
  • Generate regular progress reports including relevant KPIs for upper management
  • Select, organize and attend conferences and exhibitions in the sales area
  • Plan, organize and implement marketing actions together with Head office within the area: White papers, journal publication, talks
  • Preparation of offers, general sales administration
  • Create and maintain customer information in CRM tools (Pipedrive), track and ensure sales process according defined sale pipelines
  • Keep up to date with competition in the sales area and prepare market analysis

Your profile 

  • Highly autonomous, you are entrepreneur minded and tackle all topics: account management, sales process management, admin tasks, etc.
  • Bsc or MSc Engineering degree (Technical/Instrumentation/Mechanical) or similar background with further education in Sales & Marketing preferred
  • Working experience in Oil & Gas preferably, exposure to Chemistry and/or Power Plants is also valued
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position in an SMB, or start-up environment, selling of CAPEX equipment, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or similar goods like measuring devices
  • Proven track records in Sales and Business Development including distributor management in the territory in the target industries
  • Ability to approach different client levels, doing presentations and making on-site technical demos and training's
  • Experience in managing the local distributors in the territory of Middle East
  • Experience in Key Account Management, ability to handle key customers (Major Accounts) personally
  • Excellent communicator, multi-tasking skills, able to build relationships
  • Enthusiastic about promoting Safety and Environment protection solutions
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
  • Proven ability to work under pressure including the ability to cope with deadlines, multiple tasks, and competing demands
  • Good computer skills
  • Fluent in English & Arabic (verbal and writing)
  • Residence in the UAE
  • Willingness to travel in the Middle East (at least 50%).
