The Role
As a Principal Engineer with our Professional Services group, you will lead projects with high technical complexity to dramatically improve our ability to onboard and retain clients. You will work in coordination with multiple engineering and product operations teams to improve the systems that our clients rely on for their operations. You will identify architectural gaps and implement creative solutions that pay dividends in productivity for all future work in the areas you have influenced.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects with high technical complexity in coordination with multiple engineering and product operations managers.
- Mentor engineers at all levels within the Professional Services group.
- Participate in hiring process for all levels within engineering.
- Influence engineering strategy across multiple systems and industry verticals.
- Uncover and eliminate architectural gaps to accelerate engineering in your area.
- Partner with product engineering to convert your tactical impact into long-term ROI.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering work experience.
- Experience working with fully remote teams.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with multiple teams on large-scope projects.
- Demonstrated experience presenting on technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience authoring and maintaining excellent org-wide documentation.
- You will need to research and synthesize information about new technologies, explain them to the engineering organization, and evangelize their usefulness in our platform.
- Demonstrated independence in project management around ambiguous problems.
- Strong experience with these technologies:
- Frontend using React.
- Backend using Python Web Frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI, etc.)
- Data Management Systems (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, etc.)
- Cloud Deployment using Kubernetes (with observability)
- Prior management experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Working Times: US (EST or PST) Hours
- Compensation Breakdown
- Base: $175,000
- Base + Bonus Target: $245,000
- Eligible to receive company equity grant
