Purpose of the role

We are seeking a self-starting and experienced General Manager to lead our Inbox Business Unit. As a GM, you will be accountable for the strategy, the execution and the financial results of the BU. You will play a pivotal role in owning the business growth of our Inbox unit and enable Proton to make our privacy ecosystem mainstream.

You will report to the CEO and manage directly and indirectly cross-functional teams. You will impulse a sense of urgency, velocity, and high-quality delivery across the board.

This role is for you if you are an industry subject matter expert thriving in fast-paced environments, with a proven track record of scaling B2C SaaS products to millions of users.

What you will do

  • Grow the business with an extreme sense of ownership and entrepreneurship.
  • Develop the Business Unit strategy to achieve our business goals in terms of revenues, ARR and P&L.
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth and develop strategies to capture market share.
  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities, run competitive analysis and conduct market research.
  • Define go-to-market strategies for product launches and feature releases. Collaborate with marketing and growth teams to drive user acquisition, conversion and retention.
  • Understand customer needs and pain points, translating them into actionable product improvements.
  • Drive the execution of the product roadmap from inception to launch, define product vision and strategy
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics of the organization, making data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and revenue.
  • Manage the financial performance of the Inbox Product Business Unit, including budgeting and forecasting. Oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation to maximize the quality and velocity of the delivery.
  • Align on roadmap priorities with key cross-functional stakeholders, including direct and centralized teams of engineers, growth, product and marketing experts.
  • Lead, inspire, mentor and grow a Business Unit across all seniority levels. Impress a culture of ownership and high-velocity delivery across the whole organization.

Job requirements

  • Successful B2C SaaS technology experience, either as a General Manager or a CEO, scaling revenues of hundreds of M$ of ARR.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles, driving and implementing revenue growth with P&L ownership.
  • Strong decision-making skills, making high-judgement decisions at rapid pace.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid project management skills with successful track record of managing aggressive schedules and limited resources.
  • Strategic leader with a highly analytical and data-driven mindset.
  • 360° business acumen with expertise in marketing, sales and finance.
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams, with high velocity and talent density.
  • Exceptional communication skills to inspire and motivate users and teams across the entire organization. Prior collaboration with a C-suite and boards of directors is needed.
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills.
