About the role

Are you a wordsmith with years of experience writing copy that drives growth? Do you want to use your skills and passion for a mission-driven company that’s truly user-centric? Do you have experience in both B2C and B2B content marketing? This might be the role for you.
We are looking for an experienced Copywriter to support our Proton Pass and Proton Drive teams with various types of copy such as blog posts, emails, knowledge base articles, and SEO content.You understand the power of persuasive copywriting, are detail-oriented, organized, and can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. You can grasp difficult technical topics and turn abstract ideas into persuasive and actionable copy. Together with other Proton teams, you will identify opportunities and deliver quality copy on tight deadlines. Working at Proton requires a strong understanding of what makes our user community tick. You will be an important voice in transitioning to a more private internet.

What you will do

As part of the Content team, you will work with different marketing teams that require compelling copy designed to reach the target audience for the respective objectives. You will write clear and effective copy, particularly focusing on Proton Pass and Proton Drive. You will write copy tailored for all the user journey objectives, from awareness-driven blog posts to conversion-led emails and helpful knowledge-base articles. Day-to-day you’ll be:

  • Writing clear, attractive and error-free copy in Proton’s voice
  • Working closely with our Proton Pass and Proton Drive teams to understand our audiences and business objectives, so that you can create relevant and engaging copy
  • Collaborating closely with our SEO team on content initiatives that drive brand awareness and help reach targets
  • Collaborating with Proton’s Design, Brand, Social, PR, and other marketing teams on large- and small-scale marketing projects
  • Interpreting creative direction and technical information, and turning them into easy-to-digest and persuasive copy 
  • Proofread, edit, and rewrite copy as needed
  • Measuring the effectiveness of your copy and making adjustments as needed
  • Staying up-to-date on customer behavior, industry trends best practices, and competitor activity.

We need you to have:

We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate 3+ years of hands-on experience in copywriting, SEO, and/or a related field. You have a track record of creating highly effective copy for a large company, or from within an agency, including product launches, content marketing, email marketing campaigns, etc. 

Our ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Native and flawless written and spoken English
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your copywriting experience across various mediums
  • SEO copywriting experience
  • The ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be proactive
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A passion for security, tech, or privacy, and an ability to inspire others.
