Purpose of the role:  

In this role you will be joining our dedicated DevOps team, bringing your enthusiasm, knowledge and ideas on how to improve and scale our deployment processes. Our software engineering teams take advantage of DevOps methodologies to predictably and reliably release product enhancements in the Proton ecosystem. We use CI/CD pipelines that rely on a combination of on-premise and cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes which we need your help to scale. Planning ahead, automation and reliability are key to supporting the growth of our users and dev teams at Proton.

What you will do:

  • Join a distributed team tasked with improving how we run apps with the help of Kubernetes
  • Work with our CI/CD environments to further improve our deployment processes
  • Debug and fix build and deployment issues
  • Create consistent local and remote dev environments
  • Document and share your work so others in and outside the DevOps team can solve problems and contribute effectively

We need you to have:

  • Proven production experience deploying, maintaining and tuning K8s clusters
  • Experience building, maintaining and fixing CI/CD systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of high availability applications/systems
  • Experience working with public and private cloud platforms
  • Comfortable coding and switching between different languages
  • Skills in building monitoring and tooling solutions
  • Experience working with globally distributed infrastructure

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with K8s on-premise deployments
  • Experience with K8s architecture and scaling challenges
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Securing container images, deployments and pipelines
  • Familiarity working with Python, Go, Node or PHP
  • Experience with GitLab and Gilab CI
  • Familiar with Jira/Confluence
