Purpose of the role
As a senior front-end developer, you’ll participate in the development of the browser extension, web app and desktop apps for Proton Pass - an open source password manager.
What you will do
- Developing, deploying and supporting high-quality user experiences.
- Enhancing Proton's software development lifecycle, tools, and code structure for an improved developer experience.
- Writing clear, concise and testable code to maintain and elevate the quality of our codebase.
- Managing the scoping, planning and execution of new features, technical initiatives and greenfield projects (depending on seniority).
- Fostering a culture of learning, creativity, and accountability for the best possible work.
Job requirements
While we prefer candidates who cover the entire skill set, don't hesitate to apply if you're not an exact match, as we're willing to help you grow in certain areas.
- 6+ years of professional software development using JavaScript ES6+ or TypeScript.
- 3+ years of experience with React or 2+ similar frameworks, developing performant and reusable components.
- Deep understanding of JavaScript methodologies and design patterns.
- Familiarity with best practices for ensuring code quality, including CI/CD.
- A product mindset with a focus on offering the best user experiences.
Bonus points for:
- Awareness of common security issues in client-side development, such as those in the OWASP top ten, and how to mitigate them.
- Familiarity with UX, accessibility, internationalization, and localization concerns and solutions.
- Experience with or exposure to the DOM API.
- Experience with breaking down product requirements into architecture design and implementation.
- Proficiency with TypeScript.
- Experience with micro-frontend architecture.
- Experiences with Machine Learning
