Senior Software Engineer Backend (f/m/d)

Leipzig, Saxony, Germany (Hybrid, travel to Leipzig HQ 1-2 times per week).

The fulfilment team builds integrations into external e-commerce systems, such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Shopware, Squarespace, etc. hereby connecting our production facilities in both EU and North America with users wanting to sell print on demand merchandise. We make sure that users can create products with their own designs and synchronise these from our system to the external e-commerce systems to sell to their own customers and additionally are also responsible to process any incoming orders from those systems into our backend. We are responsible for a variety of diverse components striving to strengthen Spread Group's fulfillment business. Develop new and existing software solutions together with other Software Engineers, Designers, Product Owner and Scrum Master and integrate them into our system landscape. 

As we continue to expand our horizons, we are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as the Senior Software Engineer Backend (f/m/d) and drive innovation forward. The role is full-time and offers the flexibility to work on-site at our Leipzig headquarters or remotely within Germany. 

Our Tech Stack       

• We use the JVM in the backend, mostly using Java & Kotlin 
• We run several Spring boot software services as web services, which we continuously extend and optimize 
• We use Mongo and MySQL databases for persisting data 
• We use Maven, Sonar, Gitlab for build processes, Kubernetes, Docker and Rundeck for deployments, Kibana and Grafana for monitoring, Jira, Confluence and Miro as tool support for day-to-day work 
• We use Vue, React and React Native in the frontend. 
• We use Python for our internal tooling 
• We consider change to be a driving force in our development and are not afraid to challenge existing architectures 

What You´ll Do 

• You will be part of a passionate team to find the best possible solutions together 
• You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product designers, product owners and users 
• You will attack complexity and fight for simple solutions 
• You are proficient in developing Java services based on Spring Boot
• You ideally have experience with Kafka and ElasticSearch
• You are familiar with distributed systems and their challenges
• You can take the lead in planning software architectures and long-term roadmaps
• You stay up to date with the latest developments in the software industry
• You like helping colleagues who are stuck and don’t mind asking for help
• You have an appreciative nature, are open minded and have a growth-mindset
• You have a pragmatic mindset and care about solving problems for our users – not for unlikely future requirements.
