Your role

As a Staff Product Designer, you will lead innovative product design with a demonstrable impact in the organization and beyond. You will lead and own product features by utilizing your entire skill set in interaction, graphic design, and product-thinking. You are someone who can strike a balance between having a strong desire to understand user behavior and business performance and having a love for developing highly functional and emotionally meaningful experiences.You are comfortable switching between vision-level, defining UX frameworks, and hands-on pixel-level work. You will partner with cross-functional teams who are charged with revolutionizing how people shop, pay and bank. You will thoughtfully question the status quo and look closely at how we can push the user experience further with emerging technologies. You thrive in new areas of design where conventions and expectations haven't yet been set.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape, implement, and champion a user-centric design vision that resonates with a diverse GCC customer base.
  • Establish a deep understanding of user behaviours, needs, and aspirations through regular research, insights, and market analysis.
  • Devise design strategy, ensuring synergy across different sectors.
  • Lead end-to-end design processes, from initial research to polished UI/UX designs, ensuring top-tier execution.
  • Mentor a multi-disciplinary product design team, fostering creativity and innovation.
  • Introduce and uphold global best practices, processes, and tools while ensuring relevance to the GCC market.
  • Collaborate and build robust relationships with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Regularly engage with senior leadership, presenting design strategies and justifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with the user research team and conduct regular user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions.
  • Iterate and refine designs based on quantitative data and qualitative feedback, driving a culture of constant evolution.
  • Ensure all designs resonate with GCC cultural norms, behaviours, and expectations.
  • Leverage local insights and trends to deliver region-specific solutions.
  • Apply big-picture thinking to break down ambiguous opportunities into an actionable roadmap.
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and articulate a vision and contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Tamara.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 8+ years of relevant product design experience with at least 2 years in a IC leadership role
  • Prior experience in the GCC market is a plus.
  • Demonstrated visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function.
  • A comprehensive portfolio that demonstrates deep user-centric design thinking and execution.
  • Experience showcasing an end-to-end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing design teams.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and verticals.
