Overview:
This role primarily involves maintaining, overseeing, monitoring and reporting on emerging risks, to guarantee that company business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal requirements and internal Company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Company’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) and sanctions policy and procedures. Ensure that all compliance policies and procedures are kept up-to-date at all times, in particular those in relation to the specific requirements of VASP services in Lithuania
- Conduct AML/CTF and sanctions risk assessments, including but not limited to quality assurance checks and assessment of new product, service and business initiatives
- Monitor, investigate and provide analysis of any suspicious transactions and make all appropriate suspicious transaction reporting to Lithuanian Financial Crime Investigation Service agency (FCIS), in accordance with the relevant AML/CTF regulations
- Deliver AML/CTF and sanctions training and guidance to Company employees on AML/CTF risks, policies and procedures
- Serve as the on-site resource for regulatory and external body queries and responses
- Provide expert advice on AML/CTF and sanctions on compliance implications to senior management of the Company and where relevant product, operations and business colleagues
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and regulators to ensure that all requests and any issues are addressed in a timely and accurate manner
- Escalate to management any regulatory and/or official external body related issues where necessary
- Participate in projects and assist with any other matters as required
Requirements:
- 3+ years of compliance experience in the cryptocurrency, fintech, payments or financial services industry, working in AML/KYC teams
- Previous cryptocurrency experience and/or experience as an MLRO in Lithuania will be an advantage
- Certified by professional bodies such as the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or holder of a Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering issued by the International Compliance Association (ICA) – is an advantage
- Understanding of Lithuanian and European Union regulations relating to AML/CTF, KYC and Sanctions
- Demonstrated prior experience in conducting investigations into suspicious analysis or financial fraud
- Fluent in English and Lithuanian, with outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-driven, detail-oriented and adept at time management
- Able to analyze situations and information quickly, and confidently escalate issues to colleagues across teams where appropriate
