WHAT YOU WILL DO

Scope of the Job

As a Vehicle Software Engineer, you have a key role in integrating vehicles into our teleoperation stack and contributing to our ADAS and AD features. You are part of a team delivering highly reliable software while working closely and cross-functionally with our experts in other domains to achieve world-class teleoperation software.

Tasks & Responsibilities 

  • Integrate different types of vehicles into our teleoperation stack.
  • Design, implement (C++14), test and document new software components.
  • Monitor, analyze and improve the performance and reliability of the control chain.
  • Collaborate within the team and with teams in other domains to ensure Fernride's teleoperation stack thrives.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Robotics or related fields.
  • +2 years of professional software development experience in automotive, robotics or similar industries.
  • Excellent understanding of software design principles and software development good practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in modern C++14.
  • Excellent debugging/trouble-shooting skills of systems.
  • Very good knowledge of low-level operating system functionalities such as memory/resource management, scheduling and process control.
  • Very good Linux programming knowledge (POSIX, Linux headers, Linux specific tool-chain knowledge).
  • Very good understanding of the compilation process, assembly and system architecture specifics (aarch64 vs amd64, etc.).
  • Experience with shell scripting and Python.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
  • A hands-on mentality, an analytical mindset and a proven track record of problem-solving.
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus.
