As a Senior Financial Analyst at Mentimeter you will be an integral part of a creative and driven cross-functional Finance team that helps the entire Mentimeter organization be the best they can be. You should be business oriented and curious about a fast-paced environment and your responsibilities will be part of building a scalable, compliant and business minded finance organization.

In this specific role, you will be the first finance specialist in Mentimeter’s Canadian subsidiary and you will be working with a team of 50 highly driven and motivated people in our Toronto office on a mission to expand Mentimeter’s North American operations. You will be part of and work closely with the 6 person finance team that sits in Stockholm, Sweden and have Mentimeter’s CFO as team lead, and you will have Mentimeter North America’s General Manager as your line manager. 

What you'll do:

  • Be Mentimeter’s point of contact for our external accounting partner in Canada (today RSM) - assist in monthly closing and review current procedures and processes and make sure they work for both sides
  • Manage Accounts payable - ensure they are booked and categorized correctly by RSM and that bills are paid on time 
  • Manage reporting of employee and office expenses - set-up systems and processes and ensure correct submission and categorization
  • Drive Monthly Closing in cooperation with RSM - own the process from Mentimeter’s side, review BS and P&L, do accruals and reconciliation
  • Assist with debt collection from North American customers
  • Overall responsible for the financial processes and internal controls in Canada
  • Sales Controlling - Support the Sales team with questions regarding invoicing
  • Payroll, Benefits and RRSP - establish workflow together with HR Generalist
  • Lead the finance onboarding for new hires

We believe you have: 

  • 2-4 years of experience of financial controlling
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business administration or accounting or equivalent
  • Specialist in Finance and accounting
  • Strong analytical mindset and a hands-on approach to challenges
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Strong Excel/Spreadsheet skills
  • You are capable of tackling problem solving and thrive when working on a team which has autonomy in their day-to-day decisions
