What you’ll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Mentimeter you will be an integral part of one of our cross-functional growth teams, implementing designs and user experiences that will affect millions of people all over the world. Even though there are some specific roles in the team, we do things and solve problems together. We want you to be someone who engages with the rest of the team in product and design decisions and doesn’t shy away from discussions. This role is for someone who wants to do more than just write code 8 hours daily. 


You will take the role of a Senior Software Engineer in the team. This means you will do a lot of hands-on development, using React and Typescript, and additionally taking a lot of responsibility to make sure the technical solutions scale and hold a high level of quality according to our Engineering Principles. We also expect you to influence our and collaborate with other engineers within and outside the team.


You will balance discovery and implementation work, new customer facing features and managing tech debt and technical initiatives.


Since Employee Experience is very important to us, we expect you to raise your voice by influencing which tools, programming languages, and technologies you work with while helping us ensure we have a smooth software pipeline for continuous and fast delivery.

A/B Testing and building experimental features: Regularly conducting A/B tests with the team to optimize our services to improve the user experience navigating through our onboarding funnel.


Personalization and User Experience: Enhancing onboarding personalization for different user segments to improve engagement and conversion rates.


Content Management Systems (CMS) Development: Developing or enhancing CMS to be more user-friendly, allowing for quicker and more efficient content updates.


Cross-Platform Integration: Ensuring seamless integration across various platforms (marketing automation tools, GTM, GA4) for a unified user experience.


Website performance: Optimizing the website performance and page speed to ensure a world-class user experience


Collaboration within Growth Cluster: Ensuring seamless user experience across various stages of mentimeter product (signing up to onboarding to frequent usage)  


Compliance and Security: Keeping up with data privacy regulations (like GDPR) and ensuring the security of customer data.

What you’ll do within the team

You will be integral to the team, implementing features affecting millions worldwide. You will do this with other engineers, a Product Manager, a Product Designer, and an Engineering Manager. When you join, you will quickly notice that in this team, it isn’t the standard process of a PM that tells us what to do, a designer that tells us what it should look like, and finally, you and your colleagues are building it. It’s product first; everything else, like exact roles, is secondary. Everyone is equal before the process of delivering a great product, and everyone will always do what it takes to get the job done. As an engineer in the team, you must share this vision.


As an engineer in the OG Team, your most important task is to deliver value to our customers and users. You will, of course, do this by writing lots of code, but other elements are equally important. We expect you to foster good relationships with people outside the product department, like our sales, marketing, and support teams. To take an active part in planning sessions and to always be ready to produce the deliverable we need right now. This position involves switching between tasks often, which may not be comfortable for everyone.
