Vay aims to launch a safe, affordable, and sustainable door-to-door mobility service in the US, Germany and beyond. The role: 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Vehicle Engineer to take ownership of vehicle and tele-station hardware package configurations. The successful candidate will lead the hardware release of complete configurations for engineering and commercial use, provide technical leadership to mechanical designers and oversee design reviews and hardware package releases.

The responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of hardware vehicle and tele-station configurations, ensuring they meet the required standards for performance and reliability
  • Lead design of mechanical packages on CAD, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance
  • Lead thorough design reviews to validate and optimize mechanical hardware designs
  • Mentor, support and provide technical leadership to mechanical designers, guiding them through complex design challenges
  • Manage the hardware release process of whole vehicle and tele-station configurations for both engineering and commercial use, ensuring all components are integrated seamlessly and function as intended, while ensuring accurate and accessible documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware designs align with overall project goals and timelines

The profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7, preferred 10  years of experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the automotive or related industry.
  • Proven track record of leading complex mechanical design projects from concept to release; Proficiency in CAD and PLM softwares and other relevant engineering tools
  • Strong understanding of vehicle technologies; experience with autonomous and tele-driving systems is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively to overcome engineering challenges and commitment to deliver in a fast-paced, highly challenging innovative environment
