Senior Settlement & Clearing Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the settlement and clearing processes of financial transactions. This role involves leading a team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance, resolving complex issues, and optimizing operational efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team of settlement and clearing executives, providing guidance, coaching, and support. 
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the team. 
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end settlement and clearing processes for a diverse range of financial transactions, including securities, derivatives, commodities, and more. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, brokers, and counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlement and clearance of trades. 
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of settlement and clearing activities, including transaction confirmations, records, and communication. 
  • Address and resolve complex settlement and clearing issues, including discrepancies, disputes, and failures. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to find innovative solutions and prevent recurrence of issues. 
  • Implement and oversee procedures to ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), and other relevant regulations. 
  • Monitor settlement and clearing processes for potential operational and financial risks. 
  • Work closely with teams to assess, manage, and mitigate risks effectively. 
  • Analyze existing settlement and clearing procedures to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancement. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in settlement operations within the financial industry, with demonstrated progression to a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, market regulations, and settlement procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Attention to detail and ability to navigate complex settlement and clearing scenarios.
  • Analytical mindset with advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel (formulas/PowerQuery). 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead in a fast-paced environment.
