About the role

Payhawk is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join our stellar finance team in Sofia. You will work closely with Finance Controllers, Tax, Billing and Procurement to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information. As a leader of the accounting function, you will play a pivotal role in achieving lean and efficient finance processes. You will have the opportunity to experience fast-paced company growth with a start-up mindset operating in the SAAS and Fintech industries.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all accounting operations of Payhawk group (currently consisting of 10 entities)
  • Manage the internal accounting team and coordinate the external accounting and tax providers
  • Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Ensure a smooth and timely monthly and annual closing process
  • Ensure the completion and accuracy of tax reporting in cooperation with the Senior Tax Manager
  • Actively support the implementation of Oracle NetSuite
  • Coordinate the external financial audit
  • Proactively recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency
  • Firsthand experience with Payhawk software and opportunity to contribute to product features improvements

Requirements

  • 8+ work experience in accounting of which 3+ as a Chief Accountant or similar role in a multinational company
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of IFRS
  • Very strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • A process-oriented mind that is not afraid to challenge existing processes and build new ones
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Writes and speaks fluently in English
  • Very good computer literacy and skills: ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite is a plus), financial accounting systems, MS Office
