We are looking for  SAP HANA Database Administration Senior Consultant

Main responsabilities:

    1. Database Architecture and Management:
    • Design and implement SAP HANA database solutions tailored to business needs.
    • Manage the overall health of SAP HANA databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and optimal performance.
    • Handle database configuration, schema management, and multi-tenancy (MDC) configurations.
    1. Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of SAP HANA databases, including SQL query optimization, memory management, and resource utilization.
    • Identify and resolve bottlenecks using tools like SAP HANA Cockpit, SAP EarlyWatch, and HANA Studio.
    • Implement database partitioning, indexing, and data tiering strategies to improve system efficiency.
    1. Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery (DR):
    • Design and implement backup strategies, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical data.
    • Manage disaster recovery plans, including high availability (HA) setups using SAP HANA System Replication.
    • Perform database recoveries and ensure business continuity in case of failures.
    1. Upgrades and Patches:
    • Lead the planning and execution of SAP HANA database upgrades, patches, and migrations (both on-premise and cloud).
    • Ensure minimal downtime during system upgrades and migrations, following best practices and leveraging tools like Near Zero Downtime (NZDT).
    1. Data Security and Compliance:
    • Manage database security by configuring role-based access controls (RBAC), encryption, and user authentication.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations (GDPR, SOX) by implementing robust auditing, logging, and monitoring capabilities.
    1. Data Management:
    • Oversee the management of large data volumes, including data modeling, replication, and integration with other SAP systems (BW, S/4HANA).
    • Manage the use of HANA in-memory capabilities, optimizing memory allocation and data lifecycle management (e.g., hot, warm, cold storage).
    1. Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex issues related to SAP HANA databases.
    • Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related problems and ensure a smooth operation.
    • Analyze logs and traces to identify and resolve system performance or stability issues.
    1. Cloud and Hybrid Deployments:
    • Support SAP HANA deployments in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Manage hybrid environments, integrating on-premise databases with cloud-based solutions.
    1. Mentoring and Leadership:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and other technical staff.
    • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in SAP HANA database administration for both internal teams and clients.

Requirements: 

    1. Technical Skills:
    • SAP HANA Database Administration: Expert-level proficiency in managing SAP HANA systems, including administration, configuration, and optimization.
    • SQL Scripting and Query Optimization: Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting performance issues and enhancing database queries.
    • In-Memory Database Expertise: Deep understanding of HANA’s in-memory database architecture and its impact on data storage and processing.
    • SAP HANA Tools: Proficient in using SAP HANA Cockpit, SAP HANA Studio, SAP Solution Manager, and DBA Cockpit.
    • System Replication: Expertise in configuring and managing SAP HANA System Replication and high availability setups HA Cluster.
    • Backup/Restore Tools: Experience with HANA backup and recovery tools, including integration with third-party backup solutions.
    1. Cloud Integration and Management:
    • Knowledge of SAP HANA in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Experience with cloud-native services like backup automation, monitoring, and scaling in cloud HANA deployments.
    1. Security and Compliance:
    • Implementing security measures like encryption, SSL, authentication, and access control.
    1. Performance Tuning:
    • Expertise in memory and resource management to optimize HANA’s in-memory performance.
    • Familiarity with tools for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, such as SQL analyzer, PlanViz, and workload management.
    1. Disaster Recovery and High Availability:
    • Advanced knowledge of SAP HANA System Replication, storage replication, and data recovery solutions.
    1. Scripting and Automation:
    • Experience in shell scripting (Linux) or Python to automate database management tasks.
