First Digital Trust is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead our sales and partnership efforts. The role is responsible for leading and running all aspects of the business development process, from lead identification and qualification to developing deep market analyses, exploring new revenue models, and creating strategic business partnerships. Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills are required as well as the ability to close US$60k+ deals and maintain year-over-year growth of over 30%. Of particular interest are candidates with an excellent grasp of the blockchain and digital assets industry and the cultural trends of the crypto community.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and manage a sales and business development strategy that aligns with the company's direction for growth, revenue, and profit
  • Lead the pipeline of opportunities, prioritize according to growth value, and deliver timely reporting on sales funnel and progress towards goals to the leadership team, broader team, and other senior leaders
  • Produce incremental value from ongoing strategic relationships and identify, structure, negotiate and close significant new strategic partnership opportunities and sophisticated deals with strategic partners, such as (but not limited to) tech providers, banks, money service businesses, and other financial intermediaries
  • Identify, lead and negotiate key deals from end-to-end (from due diligence to contract negotiations and post-deal management) with cross-functional input aligned to business/service strategy.
  • Overseeing the day to day management and mentoring of the business development team
  • Explore and implement new possible revenue streams as well as develop new business models
  • Work closely with the C-level, marketing, and product teams on deal structures and product strategy. This will include an ongoing focus on discovery around the products, pricing, recurring revenue opportunities, and more
  • Influence and connect with key internal partners, including regional country heads, brands, and the strategic team at HQ, including Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Product teams.
  • Act as a brand ambassador - attend conferences, panels, and events where you advocate for FDT

Experience & Proficiencies:

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Finance desired
  • At least 4 years of deal-making experience, with a solid understanding of and exposure to the financial services industry or another high growth tech environment
  • Business level proficiency in English and a second language
  • Executive presence with outstanding presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills
  • Experience working with financial institutions, Banks, and Broker/Dealers, Exchanges, and Asset Management partners is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project planning/leadership skills coupled with the ability to operate in an ambiguous environment or unstructured situations with a high degree of autonomy
  • People-oriented and a great teammate combined with entrepreneurial skills
  • Excellent analytical and finance skills with a good understanding of contract law
  • with the ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Proven track record of adapting to new environments and working effectively with people from all levels and from a diverse group of backgrounds through excellent influencing and adaptable communication skills
