FT Longitude, the leader in thought leadership and research, is looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic client-facing Project Manager to join its dynamic, fast-growing team.
 
About Longitude
FT Longitude is a thought leadership specialist that is owned by the Financial Times Group. Longitude’s product offering spans three areas: Strategy, a set of services that helps clients to plan and execute effective and differentiated thought leadership campaigns; Research, which encompasses surveys, interview programmes, data modelling and desk research; and Content, which covers multi-format thought leadership campaigns, spanning reports, articles, opinion pieces, visual and interactive content. Role overview

The Account Manager will  be responsible for ensuring an excellent customer experience and successful outcomes of campaigns for key accounts. This will involve advising clients, problem-solving, supporting the delivery teams, and driving revenue growth across your client portfolio. 

FT Longitude provides complex solutions for senior decision-makers in large B2B organisations. Key sectors include professional services, tech, industrials, and financial services. The successful candidate would have responsibility for the retention and upselling of existing business and would need to demonstrate a strong track record of account management excellence. 

The Account Manager will report into an account director and will receive training and development as part of the role. 
 

Main duties and responsibilities 

Being a trusted advisor

  • Ensure a successful and high-quality customer experience 

  • A consultative approach to all client interactions, which should be credible and authoritative 

  • Engaging key buyers and nurturing strong long-term relationships 

Having a strong focus on outcomes

  • Developing a deep understanding of the client’s objectives and requirements

  • Diagnose outcomes and strategise with the client around suitable solutions

  • Develop knowledge of FT Longitude’s business proposition and how this can support client outcomes

  • Collaborate closely with other teams to deliver against client outcomes

  • Management of the campaign outcomes framework throughout projects

Demonstrating client expertise

  • Understanding broader business and brand context for clients

  • Managing and mitigating client issues and feedback

  • Gathering information on outcomes, testimonials, and case studies

  • Creating, presenting, and implementing a long-term sales plan for the portfolio

  • Developing client route maps to achieve deeper engagement

Driving growth 

  • To be responsible for the achievement of the retention and upsell sales target

  • Working in collaboration with colleagues to identify new business opportunities within the key account portfolio

  • To conduct ‘Discovery’ (researching thought leadership projects and competitors to find opportunities for proactive sales activity)

 

Qualifications/experience

  • Prior experience in account management with a track-record of supporting customer success, retention and growth

  • Proven ability to establish deep and long-term relationships

  • Ability to align complex product and service features to customer needs/outcomes

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

  • Good collaboration/influencing skills

  • Good questioning skills and an enquiring mind

  • Comfortable with data and digital technology
