What you will be doing
Vision and Strategy:
- Set & execute the vision and strategy for the data science team across multiple verticals, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives and goals, in partnership with Business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a group-level roadmap for data science initiatives, ensuring scalability and sustainability of data solutions along with the other data & tech teams.
Collaboration & Business alignment:
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data science projects that drive significant business value.

Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of data science solutions into business processes.
Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, ensuring their growth, performance, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the data science team.
Technical Excellence:
- Drive in-depth data analysis on various strategic topics, including customer behavior, search optimization, catalog management, finance, and commercial activities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of advanced data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and availability for analysis.
- Conduct POCs, oversee the development, deployment, and monitoring of predictive models to enhance business operations.
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and privacy compliance across all data-related activities, aligning with organizational standards.
Innovation and Industry Trends:
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies, continuously improving the data science practice within the company.
- Encourage a "think big / act fast" mindset within the team, promoting innovative & pragmatic solutions to complex business problems.
What we are looking for
- Proven track record in setting and executing data science strategies from POC to production-ready algorithms
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Advanced analytical skills with a passion for leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, with expertise in statistics and advanced data analysis techniques.
- Good understanding with big data tools and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or similar. Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies is a plus.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications, including NLP and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- High standard of communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management skills with a strategic mindset.
Very Nice to Have:
- Experience with LLM & Transformers.
- Previous experience in e-commerce or related industries.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
