The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and managing the month-end and year-end close processes.

Reporting to the Head of Shared Accounting, this role will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, driving process improvements, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The Group Financial Controller will collaborate across departments to support the company’s financial objectives and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

What you will be doing

  • General Ledger & Month-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger and compliant with group accounting principles (IFRS).
  • Account Reconciliation: Oversee and review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors, leveraging automation and best practices.
  • Audit Support: Prepare for and support internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger teams. Provide training and development to enhance the team’s performance and professional growth.
  • Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations, including IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and tax laws. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting standards and ensure the team’s adherence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., FP&A, tax, and operations) to ensure the accuracy of financial information and alignment on financial objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent qualification preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in Audit, Accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and experience managing month-end close processes.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience with SOX compliance and external audit management.
  • Knowledge of tax reporting and compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
